Kenyans should expect cheaper electricity from November should Kenya review its Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Uganda.

Energy Secretary Charles Keter media that the PPA with Uganda, signed in 2014, will be revised downwards from the current Sh22 per unit to Sh14, in a significant relief to be enjoyed by consumers.

Government is upbeat that increase in cheaper and cleaner options such as geothermal while cutting down on the diesel powered independent power producers would come in handy.

Similar pledges from the Ministry of Energy have not be felt by consumers in different categories.
