Cofek and the Kenya Nuclear Electricity Board (KNEB) will hold a joint Consumers Dialogue Forum on nuclear electricity on December 5, 2017 from 8 am to 11.20 pm at Laico Regency Hotel.

Keynote speaker will be Eng. Collins Juma, Chief Executive Officer at KNEB. Other sector experts will be invited. 

KNEB role is working to realize Kenya’s Vision 2030 by fasttracking  the  development of nuclear  power  in order to enhance the production of affordable and reliable electricity.

The forum will discuss among other issues - the pros and cons of nuclear electricity including costs, safety and affordability.

Part of the KNEB mandate include promoting and expediting development of nuclear electricity in Kenya; Undertake public education and awareness on Kenya’s nuclear power program; Identify, prepare  and facilitate the implementation of a road map for a nuclear power program and developing a comprehensive legal and regulatory framework for nuclear electricity generation  in Kenya.
