Optiven Group CEO Mr George Wachiuri at a past event

Cofek will, Wednesday November 8, lead a delegation of self-regulated property and agribusiness enterprise leaders at a meeting with the management of Agriculture and Food Authority (AFA).

The development follows the Consumer Dialogue Forum on the subject at which Cofek partnered with Diamond Property Merchants, one of the industry players.

The Federation is forging a partnership with government that will see the entrepreneurs form an association and come under mutually-agreed regulation.

The Wednesday meeting will seek the AFA concurrence to set up a stakeholder team to develop draft standards (to be discussed with Kenya Bureau of Standards) and regulations on diverse issues including but not limited to contracts, investor relations, quality of products and markets.

Cofek is confident that property and agribusiness enterprises is a great form of investment but it must be cushioned from fraud and get rich-quick entrepreneurs.

Over 20 businesses have already expressed interest to work with Cofek to sanitize the industry

Cofek will, in the first quarter of 2018, organize the Property and Agribusiness Expo, Summit and industry awards.
